JK Rithesh made his political debut with DMK, but in 2014 he left the party and joined AIADMK.
In November 2011, JK Rithesh made the headlines after his arrest in a land grabbing case. He was accused in of having deceived an American citizen of Indian origin for having promised him to buy land.
