The clash between Arsenal and Vorskla in the Europa League will take place Thursday in Kiev for security reasons, announced UEFA.

The Group E match was to be held at Vorskla st. Olexiy Butovskiy in Poltava, about 300 km east of the Ukrainian capital.

However, after the proclamation of martial law in some areas of the country, the UEFA emergency committee announced that the match would be held at the Olimpiyskiy stadium in Kiev.

In a statement from the governing body of European football, it reads: "The UEFA Emergency Committee decided today to transfer the match of the UEFA EURO 2012 FC Vorskla groups against Arsenal FC in Poltava, following the introduction of martial law in some parts of the country Ukraine

"The match will take place at the Olimpiyskiy stadium in Kyiv on Thursday 29 November at 18:55 (17:55 GMT).

"UEFA will continue to monitor and badess the security situation in Ukraine over the next few days to make any decision regarding the eventual movement of other matches."

The Olimpiyskiy stadium in Kiev hosted the final of the 2018 Champions League in May, as well as the final of Euro 2012.

The Ukrainian President called for the imposition of a law martial in the country due to escalating tensions with Russia, whose coast guards are accused of having seized three Ukrainian ships in Crimea on Sunday.

Nearly 500 Arsenal fans were to visit the game in Poltava and must now make other arrangements.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said on its website: "Ukraine imposes martial law in some parts of the country from 28 November to 27 December, increased security presence is likely In these areas, you must remain vigilant and follow the advice of local authorities. "

The FCO has created a special section on Arsenal on its website to inform supporters of potential developments.

He points out that even if the trip should be problematic, free, supporters should "be aware of the current political situation".

Arsenal have already reached the last 32 matches of the Europa League and will win the group with a win over a 4-2 defeated team in London in September.
