On Tuesday, the trailer for the movie "Super 30" by Hrithik Roshan was released. The film presents Hrithik Roshan in the role of Anand Kumar, who launched an IIT program for economically backward clbades. Now the scenario seems powerful and Hrithik, being a decent actor, should be able to do justice to his role.
This did not happen, however. After the release of the trailer, part of Twitterati could not help but stress how problematic Hrithik's game was.
In the trailer, Hrithik's complexion is darker than it really is. The reason? Brownface. The term comes from "blackface", a form of theatrical makeup used by non-black artists to give them an African-American look. Here, Hrithik Roshan received a "brownish" makeup to make it look more Indian. We do not see logic here, though.
And let's not even see how horrific his Bihari accent is. The people of Bihar, since time immemorial, have been discriminated against and ridiculed. You would expect a film by Vikas Bahl to avoid negative stereotypes or generalization. But no. Hrithik's overactivity, combined with his exaggerated focus, only makes matters worse. As a Twitter user wrote, not all Biharis speak like Laloo Prasad Yadav.

One would think that Hrithik Roshan would turn into an actor, but he does the same shit that he we launch since 2003. But in Super 30, it does it with a terrible accent.

While some claimed that Hrithik had mbadacred and "molested" the Bhojupuri language, others compared his look to Rohit's. Koi Mil Gaya. Clearly, not everybody approves the trailer.
