First Final Frustration

With two Roland Garros titles in the summer of 2006, Nadal was already becoming a potential superstar. The 20-year-old highlighted his clbad with a run in his first Wimbledon final, but he was not quite ready to clinch defending champion Federer, who won 6-0, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 to avenge his defeat at Nadal in Paris a few weeks earlier. It was the 12th match of Nadal at Wimbledon

On the edge

Back in the final 12 months later, Nadal was getting closer by pushing Federer to the limit before losing 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 in an epic clash for three hours and 45 minutes. It was the fifth consecutive crown of Wimbledon and the 54th consecutive victory on grbad. But Nadal made him sweat more than anyone before at Wimbledon, paving the way for the clbadic of all time to come.

Hits of Genius

After two years of frustration at the hands of Federer, Nadal finally had the best of his rival in a 6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 6-7, 9-7 win which ranks as the most convincing Wimbledon final of all time. Nadal became the first man since Bjorn Borg in 1980 to win Wimbledon and the French Open the same year. Simple statistics do not do justice to an extraordinary match, interrupted by the rain that lasted more than four hours and 48 minutes. The victory served as a decisive moment for Nadal as the Spaniard clinched his first major title in Paris

Champion again

Having missed Wimbledon in 2009 following an injury, Nadal was back avenging him. ;Next year. A ruthless demolition of the Czech Tomas Berdych (6-3, 7-5, 6-4) in the final earned Nadal his eighth Grand Slam title. Nadal won Wimbledon's first £ 1m check by earning the second of three successive major titles in 2010.

Rolled by Rosol

After a final defeat against Novak Djokovic in 2011, Nadal played five matches consecutive championship of Wimbledon. at a bitter end in a second round shock defeat by world number 100 Lukas Rosol. Rosol made his debut at Wimbledon, but the Czech was not intimidated into a stun 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. It was the first time that Nadal lost before the third round of a Grand Slam since he was defeated by Gilles Muller in the second round at Wimbledon in 2005.

Battle of Wounded Knees [19659003] Injured by a recurring knee injury, Nadal suffered another humiliating outing in 2013 when world number one Steve Darcis of Belgium won 7-6, 7-6, 6-4 in the first round. Two weeks earlier, Nadal had celebrated his eighth title of Roland Garros, his 12th major triumph. But across the Channel, it was another story since Nadal lost for the first time in Grand Slam.

A Dreaded Destroyer

A year after his defeat against Australian Nick Kyrgios, Nadal was sentenced to an unexpected outing yet again in 2015. This time, it was the first time in the world. was the German qualifier Dustin Brown, who blocked the Grand Slam 14 times on the central court. The world number 102 won 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the third round. With his aching knees still a big problem, Nadal would fail to win a Grand Slam in a calendar year for the first time since 2004.
