Arijit Singh, one of the most beloved Indian singers of our time, is celebrating today his 32nd birthday . The astronaut has lent his voice to at least 150 films in the last two years, which speaks volumes about the obsession of the Hindi music listener. Long before making a splash, Arijit participated in the Sony TV reality TV show, Fame Gurukul (2005). The 18-year-old boy from Murshidabad then gave in to fierce competition to finish in sixth place. Qazi Touqeer and Ruprekha Banerjee have been declared winners of the popular show.
During the episode of elimination, Qazi had stated that Arijit was too embarrbaded in a song that made him lose all sensation. On the contrary, Shankar Mahadevan, one of the judges, had described Arijit as one of the best singers in the series. The music director had even promised to give him work, which he did later
Nearly eight years after the show, Arijit had his big break with the song Tum Hi Ho of Aashiqui 2 (2013) and has never looked back since. Qazi, on the other hand, has never had the opportunity to sing in Bollywood. He is currently singing covers of famous Hindi songs for his YouTube channel.
