The first two deputies continue to face the trolls
Even after the publication of the election results of Lok Sabha and the convincing victory of Bengali actresses Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan won convincingly down. For many people, who have a stereotypical image of what politicians should look like or behave, the victory of Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan on Javapur and Basirhat is a bitter pill to swallow.
The reaction in particular is directed against Mimi Chakraborty as Jadavpur's so-called intellectual candidate; Bikash Bhattacharya of the CPI (M) was relegated to third place by voters in the recent Lok Sabha election. Even after the publication of the election results, several publications on social media overrode voters' choices. Stuck in time, many lamented the "deterioration of culture" in Bengal politics and evoked the "golden days", when personalities such as Gurudas Dasgupta, Indrajit Gupta and Somnath Chatterjee were sent to Parliament by Bengal.
But hell was unleashed when Mimi and Nusrat posted their photos with Parliament as a backdrop. Both wore Western-style clothing, which was not popular with many Internet users.
They left energetic comments in their images, claiming that it was not a shoot and that it was time for Mimi and Nusrat to take their work seriously . It is probably ironic that those who like to call themselves liberals are angry at what two adults have chosen to bring to Parliament.
