India, represented by Anil Kumble and Farhan Akhtar, only managed to score 19 points over 60 seconds, the fewest points among the 10 teams competing for the World Cup title cricket this year.

England, represented by Kevin Pietersen and Chris Hughes, co-founder of Facebook, won with a total score of 74. Australian Brett Lee and Pat Cash, a former tennis player, finished second with 69 races.
Shortly after the end of the opening ceremony, unhappy fans went on Twitter to vent their anger. While one of the fans wrote: "Our team was not strong, it chose Farhan Akhtar for cricket," also compared the actor to Malala Yousafzai, who represented the Pakistani team with Azhar Ali and counted 38 points.
