Universal shows its practicality with a new animated Hagrid

Do you think that all screens are universal and that there are no practical effects? Well, Universal Creative says now: "accepted challenge"

Universal Orlando this morning released photos and a video illustrating what he calls his most advanced animated character to date: a six-foot, six-inch Hagrid Hosting Harry Potter's New World Warrior Ride – Hogsmeade, the driving adventure of Hagrid's Magical Creatures.

Hand carved by Universal Creative with the aid of a digital scanning of actor Robbie Coltrane, Hagrid's face sits on an animated silhouette team of Harry Potter movie costumes. The animated figure is programmed with 24 different body movements and facial expressions. And Coltrane recorded a custom audio track for the character that will be used during the ride.
