– Brian James resigned Wednesday as co-editor of WWE Smackdown, according to Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver . com. Mike Johnson, of PWInsider.com, reports that James has resigned because of his frustration with Vince McMahon's changes to the script.

-Vince McMahon reportedly fired Robert Evans, a member of the creative team, according to Meltzer. McMahon was unhappy that his name was mentioned in a WWE Hall of Fame speech delivered by Evans. Evans has struggled as RD Evans in Ring of Honor and other promotions. ( UPDATE: Evans writes on his Twitter page that he left the WWE.)

Powell's POV: This far exceeded the point of absurdity. McMahon's chaotic approach of making changes on the fly and even on live television would be considered crazy in any other form of scripted entertainment. In a hilarious way, the company offers a creative team position to oversee the weekly continuity of Raw and Smackdown. While this seems like a great idea on paper, McMahon is notorious for the feeling that if he does not remember anything, he will not do it either. And it's almost impossible to maintain continuity of scenarios when McMahon modifies scenarios at the last minute.

As for Evans, he is convinced that he worked on the Hart Foundation Hall of Fame speech, in which Bret Hart mentioned McMahon. For a long time, the name of McMahon is not to be mentioned in the WWE Hall of Fame speeches. And while the rules are rules, it seems rather petty to dismiss someone for a mere mention of McMahon 's name by Hart, especially when the acceptance speech of the DX was filled in. innumerable mentions of Vince's name later in the night.
