The Movie by Vicky Kaushal & Yami Gautam Uri: The Surgical Strike Has Become One Of The Biggest box office success in recent times, keeping in mind the film's budget. The film has been in movie theaters for over a month and continues to hit box office money. By day 33, the film had managed to rack up a total of 216.21 crores of rupees, less than 11 crore behind the biggest hit of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan until now – Chennai Express.
Director Rohit Shetty realized Chennai Express, with SRK and Deepika Padukone, was a blockbuster and made 22 billion rupees at the box office during his lifetime. The film was even the biggest Bollywood success of all time until Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 broke his record.
However, it seems that even Uri: The Surgical Strike has a real chance of defeating the SRK-starrer. However, Vicky Kaushal's film has a huge upcoming challenge with Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt's upcoming film, Gully Boy, coming out tomorrow. The film directed by Zoya Akhtar is expected to open at 20 crores of rupees and should easily break the bar of 75 crores of rupees during its first weekend at the box office.
Thus, Gully Boy will certainly consume the majesty of the box office collections this weekend that no other film. That said, do not count Uri yet. The star of Vicky Kaushal has been very successful, including Manikarnika Kangana Ranaut: the queen of Jhansi. It will be interesting to see when the film finally calls it a day at the box office.
