A day late, but the long-awaited title track of Kalank was dropped. Entitled Kalank Nahi Ishq Hai the song was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Arijit Singh lent his melodious voice to the song. The song is a composition of Pritam.

Visually stunning, the song is represented by actors Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan. With poignant lyrics, this melodious piece emphasizes the feelings of love and nostalgia. Speaking of the song, Pritam explained to Bombay Times (1945) : "The song describes the emotional space of the characters.I would give much credit to Amitabh for writing a song with a word like kalank; is not easy and he wrote several versions of the song of which one was cut.It is in the Indian spiritual space, something that borders with the Sufi. "

The drama of the time, which will take place in the 1940s, will be composed by a set comprising Alia Bhatt, Varun. Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor in leading roles.

Directed by Abhishek Varman, Kalank was conceptualized about 15 years ago by the late Yash Johar and directed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. Johar had called the film "Story of Turbulent Relationships and Everlasting Love"

co-produced by Fox Star Studios, Nadiadwala Sajid, Hiroo Yash Johar and Apoorva Mehta, Kalank due out on April 17.
