Veteran choreographer Veeru Devgan died today in Mumbai. He was 85 years old. Mr. Devgan was the father of the actor Ajay Devgn. Funeral took place in Vile Parle on Monday night. According to a source close to the Devgan family, Veeru Devgan was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai because of age-related health problems. Veeru Devgan was a renowned waterfall director, who had choreographed the action sequences of more than 80 Bollywood films, especially in the 1990s.
Taran Adarsh, business badyst, told the news on Twitter Monday afternoon by writing: "Veeru Devgan died this morning (May 27, 2019) .. Father of Ajay Devgn …. The director of action and Vicky Kaushal's father, Sham Kaushal, paid tribute to the director of stunts and his mentor and wrote: "RIP Veeru Devgan ji. I just knew this sad news. As a director of action always ahead of his time and as a human being par excellence. Film producer Ashoke Pandit, in his complimentary speech to Veeru Devgan, writes: "It's sad to know that veteran director Veeru Devgan is no longer. He was a genius in the choreography of big-screen battles, when there was no equipment available. My heart has expressed its condolences to Ajay Devgn and the whole family. The funeral will be held at Vile Parle (W) at 6:00 pm today. "

Veeru Devgan is survived by two sons – Ajay and Anil – and a daughter. Ajay Devgn is married to actress Kajol and they have a son and a daughter.
