Veeru Devgan, director of action and father of actor Ajay Devgn, died Monday morning at the age of 77. The funeral will be held Monday evening at the Vile Parle West Crematorium.
Devgan was admitted to the Surya Hospital of Santacruz in Mumbai after complaining of shortness of breath, of the Times of India . He subsequently suffered a cardiac arrest and died.
Devgan has worked as a stunt director in more than 80 films, including Kranti, Mr. Natwarlal, Mr. India, Shahenshah and Tridev. He collaborated with several actors, including Dharmendra, Dilip Kumar, Vinod Khanna and Jeetendra.He made his directorial debut with Hindustan Ki Kasam (1999) starring his son Ajay Devgn with Amitabh Bachchan, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen
Devgan was last seen in public for the last time in Ajay Devgn Total Dhamaal in Santacruz in February.
Several members of the film industry tweeted their condolences.
