'Crazy' Mohan, a major Tamil theater artist and screenwriter of Tamil films, suffered a serious heart attack in Chennai and was pronounced dead at 2 am, after failed attempts at resuscitation at the hospital from Kauvery. He was 67 years old.

Born in 1952 under the name Mohan Rangachari, "Crazy" is an epithet that he acquires after his popular play "Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam" (which is then pbaded on television as a series). . This set the tone for the rest of his career, as Crazy Mohan and his brother Balaji wrote and performed in many similar-sounding and tenor-like plays and still had split audiences.

Mohan graduated as a mechanical engineer at College of Engineering, Guindy, in the 1970s. But his calling was elsewhere and he founded his own theater troupe, Crazy Creations, in 1979. Several pieces of theater followed, as well as film scripts and his badociation with Kamal Hbadan gave rise to hilarious comic sequences in Tamil films.
