As far as work is concerned, Janhvi's first film, Dhadak, was an official adaptation of the successful film Marathi, Sairat. The film was open to rave reviews and the performances of Janhvi and Ishaan have earned them appreciation from critics. While his promising debut, Dhadak, put it on the list of favorite viewers, the actor has now joined the multi-starrer Karan Johar. Entitled Takht, the film stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Bhumi Pednekar and Vicky Kaushal.

Meanwhile, Janhvi will also be portrayed in the biography of Gunjan Saxena, the first woman in the Air Force. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film has no title yet and is also interpreted by Pankaj Tripathi as Gunjan's father. Gunjan Saxena played an important role during the Kargil War in 1999 and was conferred on Shaurya Chakra by the Indian government.
