Now, another national award-winning actress is ready to play the role of "the human computer" in her next film, and that's no less than Vidya Balan. Yes, the star of Dirty Picture and NTR has officially announced her next film and it is the biographical film of Shakuntala Devi.
Vidya used social media to share the details of this new project. In the film, Vidya will be seen as Shakuntala Devi, a genius of mathematics. The biopic was in the news since last December; However, the official announcement was made today. Shakuntala Devi is one of the country's best-known mathematicians and holds a record in 1982 in publishing the Guinness World Records Book. Vidya will present the journey of a Brahmin girl from Bangalore who has used her talent to make the country proud.
Vidya Balan was delighted to play the role of such a genius and said, "I am extremely excited to play the human computer, Shakuntala Devi, on the big screen. The film will be directed by Anu Menon and produced by Vikram Malhotra. Anu has movies like London, Paris, New York and Waiting for his credit. The director had approached Vidya Balan in December and that is when rumors began to surface. Anu added, "Shakuntala is a true heroine of our time. And who else can capture the spirit of a woman like Shakuntala as the incredible Vidya Balan. We spent months together developing scenarios and it was nothing exciting.
However, today, Vidya officially announced the film. Shakuntala Devi was not only interested in numbers, but was also an astrologer and had written several books, including The World of Homobaduals, considered the first study on homobaduality in India. Shakuntala Devi's biographical film will soon be available on the floors and is scheduled for release in the summer of 2020.
