Voting opens for AMPAS, categorizing the categories of the night

OSCAR FORECAST 2019 : The Oscars will open today and members of the Academy of Arts and Film Science will present their favorite films and performances of the year. Unfortunately, they will do so under the umbrella of the Academy's worst public relations year. Variety announced yesterday that the decision to broadcast some of its awards during commercials was taken.

President John Bailey announced that the winners of the awards for film, editing, short film, make-up and hairstyle would be distributed during a commercial break, then repackaged and later aired on the show. I already had my speech on Twitter yesterday, so I'm saving you more grief but needless to say I am extremely disappointed and deeply offended by the decision to go ahead with this low blow for the ratings (spoiler alert: this will never happen)

That said, we are looking to the future in the hope of being able to save all that remains of this awful rewards season, rich in fantastic movies and movies can be celebrated. With all the bad news, all seemingly queuing up on Donald Trump's playbook, you can not focus on the first superhero movie nominated for the best-nominated foreign film or movie all time. All you can hear is anger and consternation.

What have we learned in recent days about BAFTA and other guilds? Strangely, some things have been cleared up, while others are still moving and are probably open until the ceremony. Let's divide this into three different clbadifications of Oscar categories: "Easy Calls", "50/50" and "Your guess is as good as mine."

• DIRECTOR : Looks like everything is fine for Alfonso Cuaron for get his second Academy Award for "Roma", after his victory in 2013 for "Gravity". With wins at Critics Choice, Golden Globes, DGA and BAFTA, he's hard to beat. Spike Lee is the only spoiler possible if "BlacKkKlansman" still receives gas before the end of the vote. It will be a rallying cry for him to take it at this point. Only the second Oscar of Ang Lee for "Life of Pi" could win the title of best director without any major win.
• LEAD ACTRESS : Glenn Close has it well sewn, but Olivia has some vulnerabilities The BAFTA victory of Colman.
