PlayStation Vue subscribers now have a new reason to use the Apple TV app on iOS and tvOS. Sony announced this week that its streaming TV service had become the first third-party service of its kind to be integrated party TV app. Vue subscribers now have access to all on-demand content offered by the service, as well as to live channels across the country, on their iPhone, iPad or Apple TV with the help of the TV application.
As Engadget explains, connected with your View account via the TV app, all live and on-demand programs will show up, including live sports. You'll see content on demand on Watch Now, while Up Next presents a summary of the shows you've already started and lets you get back on track.
PlayStation Vue does not have YouTube TV brand recognition. or Hulu Live TV, but having launched just after Sling TV in 2015, it has had time to build a large user base, with nearly 750,000 subscribers at last count. Like most other Internet TV services, Vue offers a variety of packages, including a $ 45 package that includes local and cable (but little sport) and a $ 80 package with more than 85 channels.
a brilliant solution for the crowded world of applications and services in which we lived during its launch, offering iPhone users and Apple TV a unified platform from which handle all of their subscriptions. Its potential has not yet reached its potential, but the addition of PlayStation Vue is a step in the right direction.
