What is the official Live-Action DC slate now looks like

[ad_1]

The extended universe of DC was not exactly the most entertaining under the sun. The first two films divided at best, the third films were solved and the Justice League was a flop with epic proportions. Of his five films, only two ( Wonder Woman Aquaman ) can be considered objectively as real successes, as they have achieved both critical and financial success.

a big question mark was The Batman . We have been working for years and Ben Affleck has been involved for a while to develop, lead and play the lead role in the project. But, in the wake of Batman v Superman's failure, his involvement in the future seemed at best improbable. No later than yesterday, it was confirmed that it was out and we would have a new Batman movie in 2021. So I thought it was the perfect time to get back on the list we know for DC's live movies.

Do not forget that this includes Joker – a standalone film shot outside DC Extended Universe. But since it's a living action, I thought we'd include it. So, with regard to official films, here's what we look at:

Shazam! : April 5, 2019
Joker : October 4, 2019
Birds of Prey : February 7, 2020
Wonder Woman 1984 : June 5, 2020
The Batman : June 25, 2021
The Suicide Brigade : August 6, 2021 [19659003] And just to be finnish, here is what the slate introduced by Warner Bros. was like. in 2014:

Shazam : 2019
Justice League 2 : 2019
Cyborg : 2020
Green Lantern : 2020

It is interesting to see what projects are stuck, what projects have not evolved and how things have changed since their creation.

Of course, not all of these projects are in development. At some level we have Aquaman 2, Adam Black, Cyborg, The Flash, New Gods, Nightwing, Gotham City Mermaids, Batgirl, The Green Lantern Corps., Deathstroke, Justice League Dark and more again. However, at this stage it is unclear whether previous development rumors surrounding films such as Blue Beetle or Supergirl were still valid.

At the very least, DC's extended universe can truly be seen as a high-level view of the inner workings of the film industry. How they develop, announce, cancel, rework and change projects seemingly on a whim. It's something that has always been part of the business world, but in the age of the Internet, things are really interesting.
