Director Ayan Mukerji has come a long way since he was badistant director of Shah Rukh Khan's 2004 hit movie, Swades. The director, who has several successes to his credit and is waiting for the release of his dream project Brahmastra now, shared a regression picture of Swades' mahurat on his Instagram account.
Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao attended the mahurat of the film and can be seen holding the clapboard in the photo. One can see the actor in his Mangal Pandey look, released about six months after Swades.
Ayan writes with the picture: "Swades. At age 19, I started my career as an badistant director under Ashutosh Gowariker, my brother-in-law and first mentor. With Ashuda, I really understood the pbadion and sacrifice that each film entails and how to fully devote to the film trip that we are doing … I applauded for each shot of this movie, and in return, I learned, so much learning, such privileged relationships and many memories … #startingpoint #memorylane #everythingisconnected. "
Ayan's sister, Sunita Gowariker, made her production debut with Swades. She reacts to Ayan Mukerji's message: "It was a first for both of us, @ayan_mukerji, to you as a DA and mine as a producer! And our respective journey continues again. You were so smart even at the time and so hard to work. So proud to have like my brother! Best gift of gods! I love you so much.
Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades was acclaimed by international critics for treating the subject, which revolved around the character of Shah Rukh, a NASA employee who returns home and works to improve his village. Gayatri Joshi had played the female lead in the film.
Ayan is now preparing for the release of Brahmastra, the first of a fantastic trilogy. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan in a leading role. The film should be out before Christmas on December 20th of this year. The logo of the film was uniquely unveiled with 150 drones at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
