Chris Evans has probably thought that it would be wise to develop his acting talents across genres before attempting to direct them.
Will Chris Evans try again to lead and will he succeed?
Marvel offers its actors a major luxury: the money needed to take risks. So, it is likely that we will see Evans behind the camera one more time (or a few more times) along the line. However, will his performance be better the second time?
If his role as a director in the past is an indication of his future success behind the camera, the public should be worried. However, the actor is coming out of his comfort zone, considering his upcoming roles, for a reason. And, considering what he told Variety in 2014, he is likely expanding his wings to become a better director.
In short, Chris Evans – like many actors turned directors – retains the potential to succeed, but must spice up his portfolio of actors before becoming the next Bradley Cooper.
