The Keanu Reeves series announces as one of the greatest trilogies of the decade.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – The third chapter of Keanu Reeves saga, Parabellum, is on the screens this week. The story, which began with the legendary badbadin coming out of his retirement to avenge the death of his dog, then heading to Rome to catch a target, now finds the character "excommunicado", with a contract on its head. The Dog [19659008] This is the hook. The MacGuffin. The plot of land that draws you into John Wick. Because what could have been a movie about a man avenging the death of his wife becomes rather the story of a man who repays the death of his dog. And since dogs are better than people, this switcheroo raises serious issues.
Of course, the dog also represents his recently deceased love. Because, as John says, Viggo Tarasov, the leader of the Mafia, "When Helen died, I lost everything. Until the dog has arrived at my door. A last gift from my wife. At this moment, I received a semblance of hope. An opportunity to mourn with unanimity. And your son took me that. It stole that. I killed that from me!
John's emotional bond with Daisy the Beagle forces the public to invest emotionally. So when this relationship is badly broken, we will forgive John for just about anything. It's the genius of John Wick, it seems that Parabellum will offer even more canine action. Hope there is no more dog death.
The Man
The Boogeyman. The devil. The reaper. Baba Yaga. John Wick is known by many names in the criminal community. All this suggests that he is the murderer of the murderer. He once killed three men with a pencil, whereas before the events of the first film, he had accomplished the "impossible task" by killing all of Tarasov's enemies in one night.
What makes John a bigger character than life. But these are just words. It is only when you witness the action of Wick that you really understand the man. His goal is to carry out the task at hand, no matter the cost. These lightning reflexes that allow him to dodge knives, bullets and fast cars. And the tactical tricks with which he handles and defeats his opponents. John's every action saves the caption. And in chapter 2, we even come to we see him going to town with three murderous pencils in town.
Yet he is also a gentle, polite and thoughtful man; he who keeps his cool, who has a moral compbad and who knows the good of the bad. And it is this dichotomy that forces the public to ask for more; These stories of the monster that he was before finding love contrasted with the man he became. Contradictions that make John Wick an infinitely interesting character and worthy of a series of ongoing films.
Matrix. So we started an ongoing collaboration that generated incredible action on several films. This then prompted Reeves to call Stahelski when John Wick's script landed on his desk.
This was the right choice to make. After doubling for Keanu, Chad knew how he was moving, how he was fighting, what he was physically capable of, and how to make him look cool on the screen. The action in John Wick's films is therefore geared to Reeves' abilities, focusing on the star's excellent performance.
And with the three chapters shot pretty quickly (we got three movies in four and a half). years), when Keanu does not shoot a John Wick movie, he trains for one. This is where a large part of the trilogy budget is spent; not on expensive CGI, but on months and months of preparation. Actors and stuntmen perfect each sequence before a second of footage is shot. John Wick loves his puppy in the same way that the public loves Keanu Reeves, an actor who seems so kind and vulnerable that you just want to give him a hug. John Wick is also a bit of a samurai; a noble warrior traveling from city to city, doing justice and repairing wrongs. And it is a character that Keanu Reeves has been developing for decades on the screen: he plays resolutely determined heroes, like The Matrix, Constantine, The Day where the Earth stops and 47 Ronin. Moreover, after collaborating with Keanu Reeves for decades, director Chad Stahelski does not know what the actor is capable of physically, but also in terms of performance . What makes these films the perfect marriage between actor and material.
The World-Building
Chapter 1 built a mythology around not only John Wick, but also the dark world in which he finds himself. One of the strict rules, a mysterious terminology, a strange motto and obsolete technology. This first film featured The Continental, a New York hotel serving as a neutral territory to a syndicate of skilled badbadins. Violence on the premises is strictly prohibited and punishable by excommunication or death.
This intriguing hell is loosely based on Greek mythology, with the Continental concierge named Charon – the ferryman of the Greek underworld at the time – and the gold coins replace the dollars as that currency.
Chapter 2 of John Wick describes the underworld with the introduction of blood oaths and the influence of Continental up to Rome. And that seems to open up more in Chapter 3, with the organization's global network being developed, leaving John with nowhere to hide. This may be just a beginning, since there is a televised spin-off planned for the post-Parabellum, The Continental. And the film series can not possibly be over …
So, rather than John Wick being one of the greatest trilogies of the last decade, if everything goes as planned in chapter 3, we could maybe be turning to the best franchise in the next.
