According to a mid-day report, SRK is about to return to its popular "Don" franchise. The third part of Don has been in the news for a long time and the fans are waiting to see SRK come back in the role of Don. The first part of the film released in 2006 became a huge success, followed by Don 2 released in 2011 and performed by Priyanka Chopra alongside Shah Rukh Khan. The film is expected to be screened at the end of the year in Malaysia, the report said.

The report quotes a commercial source stating that Farhan and Shah Rukh were looking for an appropriate narrative to advance the franchise and that they have now chosen one. The development of the script will take a few months. Meanwhile, Farhan will shoot for his sporting drama, Toofan, while SRK will be busy with his cricket team. The film is scheduled to be screened by the end of the year or early 2020. The source also said that a part of the third edition would be shot in Malaysia, and the film will be screened in late May. team has already applied for a grant for filming.
