IndiaToday.in review Janani K rated the film 2.5 out of 5 stars and wrote: "For the public not speaking Telugu, Yatra could serve as a manual on the events that occurred in 2003. But, for Telugu speakers, Yatra proves unimpressive because the film lacks punch and whistles. The recently published biopics – Sanju, Mahanati and Kathanayakudu – NTR dehumanize their respective heroes and project them as gods (or victims of the situation, as in Sanju.) Congratulations to Mahi Raghav who presents the human side of YSR and remains far from glorifying him. there are a lot of sequences showing YSR as a man and not as a politician.

Yatra stars Mammootty, Ashritha Vemuganti, Rao Ramesh, Suhasini Maniratnam and Posani in significant roles The film, produced by 70mm Entertainments, has music composed by K.
