Indiana Hoosiers QB Michael Penix Jr. injures his leg in victory over Maryland Terrapins

Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr. left the Hoosiers’ victory over Maryland with 4:36 left in the third quarter after sustaining a leg injury and he did not return.

Penix ran 21 yards to the Maryland 3-yard line when he was injured. He was helped off the field and taken to the locker room by Indiana training staff. Redshirt sophomore Jack Tuttle finished the game for Indiana 5 for 5 for 31 yards in the 27-11 victory.

After the game Indiana coach Tom Allen was unable to give details of the injury, saying: “I don’t really know at the moment, we’ll do some more testing to figure it out. . ” Allen added that they will know more on Monday.

The 12th-ranked Hoosiers will play Wisconsin’s No.18 in Madison on December 5.
