Indiana Pacers forward TJ Warren is set to miss a significant portion of the regular season, sources told ESPN, after undergoing surgery to correct a stress fracture in his left foot.

On Thursday night, the Pacers described the surgery as repairing “a small navicular fracture”.

It’s a big blow for the Pacers, as Warren led the team in scoring last season with 19.8 points per game. He was explosive in the Orlando restart, including a 53-point performance about to average nearly 27 points in the bubble.

Warren, 27, is averaging 15.5 points this season. He underwent end-of-season stress fracture surgery in 2016 while with the Phoenix Suns, and returned for the start of the following season in great shape.

Warren has become one of the best small forwards in the East since arriving from Phoenix in a draft day trade in 2019.
