If the recently disclosed design documents provided by Steve Hemmerstoffer (@OnLeaks), sometimes reliable, are accurate, at least one of the Apple 2019 iPhones will feature a rear triple camera configuration in a triangular layout.
Hemmerstoffer has released the diagram of the iPhone next to a previously released CAD model, based on a leak of similar design. What immediately emerges from the photo leaked is that the iPhone seems to have three goals on the back.

Rumors about the next Apple iPhone, with a triple back firing configuration, have been circulating for a few months now. Ming-Chi Kuo, a famous Apple analyst, was one of the first to report on the change of camera equipment in May. As mentioned earlier, Hemmestoffer has also released renditions of Apple's iPhone 2019, supposedly based on disclosed design documents.
It is likely that Apple's second-generation iPhone XS Max will feature the three-lens configuration, with the next version of the smaller, iPhone XS and iPhone XR "entry-level" with dual lens.
It's unclear how Apple will use the three-lens configuration, but its goal will likely be the same as the three camera shooters featured in recently launched Android smartphones, such as the Huawei P30 Pro and the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S10.
This means that at least one of Apple's upcoming iPhones will offer increased zoom, wider field of view, and improved low-light performance.
Apple generally unveils its new smartphones in September.
