LSI survey: 70.3% of respondents believe that Indonesian economic conditions are good and good

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The results of the survey conducted by Judge Denny at the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) show that currently, the number of voters who badess the economic situation of Indonesia is in a moderate state and more satisfactory than those who evaluate a bad economic situation.

According to the results of the LSI survey, 70.3% of the 1,200 respondents said the economic conditions in Indonesia were moderate and good.

Meanwhile, 24.7% of respondents said economic conditions were in bad shape and 5% said they did not know.

Ardian Sopa, a researcher at LSI, said the perception of economic conditions had an effect on the support provided to the pair of presidential and vice-presidential candidates in the 2019 presidential election.

According to him, presidential candidate number 01, Joko Widodo, who holds an outgoing president, has benefited from the public's positive perception of economic conditions.

"Overall, Jokowi benefited from the positive perception of the public.More than 70% of the population felt that the Indonesian economy was moderate and good," Ardian said in describing the survey's findings. at LSI office in East Jakarta on Tuesday (27/11/2018).

Meanwhile, 27.7% of those surveyed who considered the Indonesian economy as poor were the majority to vote for the presidential and vice presidential candidate number 02 Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno.

"In the voter segment, which says the economy is bad, the pbadword is higher," Ardian said.

Ardian said that public perception of economic conditions was influenced by several factors.

First, through media reports related to the economic sector. The second factor is the situation experienced by the community in everyday life.

"In the end, I felt that their perception corresponded to what we felt in everyday life," he said.

Data collection from the LSI Denny JA survey was conducted from November 10 to 19, 2018. The method used was random multistage sampling.

There were 1,200 people interviewed and were citizens entitled to vote.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with the help of a questionnaire. LSI said the margin of error of the survey was 2.9%.
