TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Windows 10 October update, or version 1809, in addition to the resolution of some security issues, also damaged the functionality of Microsoft Media Player and the Windows 10 operating system, as reported by Slash Gear on November 27, 2018.

This problem comes from version 17763.134, Windows 10 update released November 13, above the October 2018 update, which has been reissued but still has problems.

According to KB4467708, the update has corrected some of the reported security issues and has also released a security update for several Windows programs, including the Edge and Explorer web browsers.

Although you can still play videos in Windows Media Player after an update, you will not be able to move forward or backward because the search bar has been corrupted due to "some files" not mentioned by Microsoft.

This update prevents "some users" from the default application settings to use Win32 programs, such as VLC for video files. This may be a way for Microsoft to encourage users to continue using UWP applications, even for alternative purposes.

In both cases, Microsoft said that it corrected but did not give a date for the Windows Media Player bug.
