This Isuzu effect and solution when solar fuel B20

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The government has published a policy of using biofuels in B20 biodiesel. PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) is one of the producers who said they are ready to use this fuel.

The brand, known as its diesel product line, has been testing fuel on its engines. As a result, the product is able to consume B20 fuel.

But are there no side effects? PT IAMI's marketing director, Attias Asril, said the performance of the Isuzu engine had slightly decreased.

"So, in principle, the results of the performance tests resulted in a decrease of 2 to 2.5% .It is normal," Attias said at his meeting on Tuesday (27/11/2018).

Attias explained that the decline was felt in the acceleration of the vehicle. For sensitive drivers, the energy is a little reduced.

Attias further revealed that the nature of the B20 fuel had a detergent capacity that disrupted the fuel filters due to the accumulation of dirt. This is causing a decrease in engine power.

"That's what needs to be taken into account when using the B20 – in fact, the use of ordinary diesel fuel has to be replaced every 10,000 kilometers, which is why the filter needs to be replaced more quickly." said Attias.

This substitution problem, Attias ensured that it was not an important problem. Users who take care of their vehicles diligently, according to the maintenance instructions of the owner's book, the problem of power that disappears can then be resolved.

"It's also a question of price." Sunscreens are fast-moving replacement parts, so the price is competitive and produced in the domestic market, said Attias.
