Istana: What are the basic tenets of Ferdinand accusing Jokowi of upholding state institutions?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Special staff of President Adita Irawati felt that the statement of the politician of the Democratic Party Ferdinand Hutahaean that President Joko Widodo manipulated state institutions was an incorrect and excessive statement.

"It is wrong and too excessive to mention the president's statement as a form of state manipulation, what is the basis of this accusation?" Adita said by phone Wednesday (28/11/2018) afternoon.

He wondered why President Jokowi's request for the Trans-Sumatra toll road project in Lampung-Palembang to be operational immediately would have given rise to negative comments, particularly from politicians.

Supposedly, the president's instructions were welcomed because the community could automatically use the infrastructure project.

"If an infrastructure project can be completed faster, why is it complaining? It should be grateful and appreciated because it means that it can also be enjoyed more quickly," Adita said.

In addition, if the Lampung-Palembang toll road is officially operational in April 2019, it may be easier for people who want to return home to Lebaran.

The point that should be a concern is whether the acceleration of the completion of the infrastructure project does not take into account governance and provisions.

In the context of the president's request on the Lampung-Palembang toll road, Adita ensured that no governance was ignored.

The project is very possible to finish and operate faster.

"We must all ensure that nothing is violated.The President will certainly not want if, to speed up the project, there is violation.It is very concern about it, "said Adita.

Ferdinand said President Jokowi has manipulated state institutions so that the infrastructure project is completed faster than expected. This is only considered for the purpose of obtaining personal political benefits.

"It is clear that Jokowi is manipulating the ranks of state institutions to work desperately outside of his schedule to gain political gains," Ferdinand said at a meeting Wednesday morning.

Ferdinand's statement refers to President Jokowi's speech at the CEO Forum and at the Bank of Indonesia's annual meeting on Tuesday (27/11/2018).

At both events, President Jokowi said he had requested that the Lampung-Palembang toll road project be commissioned in April 2019.

Indeed, he received a report indicating that the project could be operated in June 2019.
