JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The baby, suspected of being a newborn, was found at Jalan Kelapa Lilin Timur in Kelapa Gading, north of Jakarta on Wednesday (28/11/2018).

Kelapa Gading Police Chief Kompol Martua Silitonga said the baby was found alive and taken to a health center for treatment.

The baby was found in a state without clothes. After being taken to puskesmas, we know that the baby weighs 2.2 kg and weighs 43 cm long.

Martua said, the baby was found around 5:30 WIB. Police received the report of a witness named Frans, president of the local RT.

"At 5:30 in the morning, a witness reported finding a live baby who was in a place where there were no clothes and then contacted the security checkpoint," said Martua.

The case is currently being handled by the Kelapa Gading Police Criminal Investigation Unit. A number of witnesses were questioned about who was throwing the poor baby.
