Pertamina starts developing the first Balikpapan refinery in 2019

Jakarta – PT Pertamina (Persero) will build six refineries to boost fuel oil production (BBM). With the refinery, Pertamina intends to increase production up to 2 million barrels a day over the next 8 to 10 years.

Nicke Widyawati, Pertamina's general manager, explained that one of six refineries, which will be built in the near future, refinery Balikpapan.

Nicke said the refinery that will also be accelerated is Tuban Refinery. He said, currently acquiring land.

"Today, the land has been treated, both the LHK land and the residents, we are also doing the refurbishment and we hope the process will be fast," he said.

In addition, the Bontang refinery in Pertamina will sign working environment in December. Then, for the refinery Cilacap will enter the process clearing.

"Aramco is always financial, we are clearing "Start the development process of Cilacap," he said.

He continued, Pertamina would also build the Balongan refinery. He added that Pertamina had cooperated with CPC Taiwan to build the refinery.

"For Balongan, some time ago at the IMF, we had the cooperation of the Taiwan CPC to build refineries," he said.

Nicke added that for the Plaju and Dumai refineries, it was not a new development, but a refinery development.

"Then, Plaju and Dumai, this process does not build again, we convert what was used to produce diesel fuel and fuel, so it continues green fuel, a green fuel we point to green off using CPO, so this can be B 100. We do it long-term contract with provider CPO, "he concluded. (fig / fig)
