JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com –– Good news for fans of the British artist Ed Sheeran in Indonesia. The singer The Shape of You has kept her promise to postpone her canceled concert in Jakarta.

Ed Sheeran will hold a concert entitled Divide around the world at Bung Karno Main Stadium (GBK), Senayan, central Jakarta, May 3, 2019.

The news was announced by promoter PK Entertainment at the Ed Sheeran concert press conference at the XXI Plaza Indonesia Lounge in Thamrin, central Jakarta on Wednesday (28.11.2018).

"We officially announce Ed Sheeran's concert, titled Ed Sheeran Divide Around the World 2019 Jakarta, "said Harry Sudarma, director of marketing for PK Entertainment.

"So we can confirm today that Ed Sheeran will be coming to Indonesia on Friday, May 3, 2019. We are very proud to be able to bring Ed Sheeran to Indonesia," continued Peter Harjani as PK Entertainment General Manager. .

Jakarta became the sixth city in Ed Sheeran's tour series in 2019. Before traveling to Jakarta, the Grammy-winning singer will perform in Tokyo, Seoul, Osaka, Singapore and Bangkok.

Harry added that there were 45,000 tickets available for the concert presented by PK Entertainment with AEG Presents and Rhythm Sound.

"If we talk about the target market, it's very broad, of course, not just the millennial generation, but also range this age very general,Harry said.

There are six categories of tickets with prices ranging from 550,000 to 2.6 million rupees (excluding 15% tax and 3% administration).

Ed Sheeran had previously planned to hold a concert at the Tangerang BSD Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) on November 9, 2017.

However, the concert was canceled after Ed Sheeran 's London accident Monday (10/16/2017) at the time. He was hit by a car while he was pedaling. Ed Sheeran later apologized and promised to postpone it.

"I apologize to all those who were injured because of this (cancellation of the concert)," said Ed Sheeran in a written statement from the promoter of the concert, AEG Present Asia, received by Kompas.com on Thursday (26.10. 2017).

"My schedule in Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong and Jakarta unfortunately has to be canceled because it is not possible to postpone it next year," he said.
