Doctors drunk during cesarean section, deaths of patients and their babies

NEW DELHI, KOMPAS.com – A doctor from the state of Gujarat, in western India, was arrested for having undergone a cesarean section while he was drunk.

As a result, the baby treated by the doctor died shortly after birth, followed by the mother.

Dr. PJ Lakhani is an experienced and experienced doctor who has been working at the Sonavala Hospital Government Hospital for 15 years.

On Monday night (26/11/2018), a woman named Kamini Chachi was taken to the hospital to give birth.

Arriving at the hospital, Kamini was decided to undergo a caesarean section managed by Dr. Lakhani.

Local media reported that after waiting in front of the family home, the patient had learned that the doctor could not save her baby's life while her mother was bleeding profusely.

The Kamini family then decided to take the woman to a private hospital, but died on the way.

Police told the BBC that Lakhani's doctor had asked for help because he feared the patient's family would attack him.

However, when the police arrived at the hospital, they found Lakhani drunk.

"We found out that he was intoxicated during a surgical procedure and so we stopped him," said Human Resources Manager Goswani.

Meanwhile, the hospital management immediately formed a team to investigate this case.
