Triumph engine in Moto2 is more powerful than Honda

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has become the main engine supplier of Moto2 MotoGP category next season. After being kept secret, on Tuesday (27/11/2018), they announced the official specifications of the machines used in the competition.

The British manufacturer said the 765cc in-line three-cylinder engine used was made from the Triumph Street Triple RS model. This machine produces a power of up to 138 tk.

This power is greater than that of the Honda CBR600 four-cylinder engine producing a power of less than 130 tk. This machine was used in the previous competition.

"We believe that the development of our machines has been very comprehensive and that it can increase power, torque and sound, which will spark enthusiasm for the race in 2019," said Stuart Wood. , Chief Engineer of Triumph Motorcycle.

Triumph revealed that his party had successfully completed various programs focused on improving performance, sustainability and control. This development was carried out for two years at the plant, at the dynometer and on the Triumph track.

This machine receives a modification of the standard used on the Street Triple RS model. Such as the size of the cylinder head change, the exhaust, a higher compression of the engine and a faster use of the fuel injectors.

In addition, the first and second transmission ratios have been modified, in badociation with the Magneti Marelli calculator. Clutch used the slip clutch function for the purposes of the race.

In 2010, the Moto2 clbad itself used a 600cc four-stroke engine that replaced the previous 250cc clbad.
