SERAMBINEWS.COM, MEULABOH – Two residents of Meutulang village, Panton Reu district, West Aceh, tested positive for malaria and treated at the local health center on Wednesday (28/11/2018).

The two patients were married couples named M Ibrahim (70) and Putri (65) who were farmers in the village.

The positive certainty of malaria after the West Aceh health office team visited several villages in Panton Reu. Dozens of people were transported to the health center in Meutulang in the last two days after suffering from cold, pain in the body and headaches.

Serambinews.com asked Azwar Liza, of the Aceh West Health Bureau, about malaria. According to blood tests performed on 100 people, two people were positive, while the others were negative.

"The blood examined consisted of patients treated at Puskesmas and a number of other residents of the village.Two HIV-positive people were still being treated at the Puskesmas," Azwar said.

He said that the examination of malaria that had attacked the two residents was an acquaintance, including monkey animal parasites transmitted by humans to mosquitoes.

"Malaria was first infected by monkeys, then the mosquitoes were transmitted to humans.But not a human transmission to the other.It is possible that these couples often go into the rivers of their area, "said Azwar. (*)
