Jakarta – The government continues to encourage the distribution of electricity in different regions. Because a lot of Indonesians do not have electricity.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ignasius Jonan, said that currently, there are still 2% that have not yet been connected to electricity. This amount equates to 5 million inhabitants.

"I say that the ratio of electrification is 98.05%, about 2%, 2% multiplied by 267 million, about 5 million, the amount is equal to a state of Singapore, there is no no electricity, "said Jonan at the Pertamina Energy Forum (PEF) of Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Thursday (29/11/2018).

Jonan said that the current electrification rate is 98.05%. Jonan is aiming for the end of the year at 98.2%.
"It's more advanced, it is now at 98.05% and by the end of this year, 2018 is at 98.2%," he added.

Jonan explained that the achievement of the current electrification ratio shows a very significant development. He added that in the National Medium Term Development Plan (NMRMP), the goal is to reach 97.5% by 2019.
