According to the xda developers page, Wednesday, December 26, 2018, the update of MIUI 10.1.2.0 has been the subject of a discussion by Xiaomi since last month. However, it seems that both devices will not receive official update for Android Pie, because the update of MIUI 10 is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Nevertheless, Xiaomi still works to improve the performance of firmware updates. This update is a progressive update.
MIUI 10 has the biggest increase in AI technology. AIUI's 10 AIUI Artificial Intelligence technology brings in-depth learning and thus reduces application opening time by studying the usage behavior of your application and anticipating actions.
Xiaomi offers downloads for the recovery ROM, which means that both devices can manually download and apply the default MIUI update or can boot into TWRP and flash it over the current version of MIUI. This will be applied as if the user were waiting for OTA notifications and would not lose data with the update.
