TRIBUNJOGJA.COM, SLEMAN – The Sleman health office asks citizens to become aware of dengue haemorrhagic fever and leptospirosis at the height of the rainy season.

The head of the prevention and control of diseases (P2P) Sleman district health office, Novita Krisnaini, explained that the call would be in the form of a circular letter.

"We are waiting for the signature of the head of the office, we will publish it later," Novita explained in his room Thursday (17/01/2019).

Novita said the circular would be distributed to a number of health facilities such as Puskesmas throughout the Sleman region.

On the basis of the example presented by Novita, the circular contains 11 points.

These points describe anticipatory measures that citizens can take to prevent the occurrence of DH and leptospirosis.

Residents are also asked to report immediately if a family or a person in their environment is suspected of contracting any of these diseases.

"We will also increase fogging activities in each sub-district," Novita said.

Regarding the circular, Novita said the policy was actually implemented every year, especially at the height of the rainy season.

Because in this season, the potential for epidemic dengue fever and leptospirosis is high.

"But we also call people to stay alert for other diseases, such as acute respiratory infections and diarrhea," he said.(TRIBUNJOGJA.COM)
