The funeral of Daniel Dacu, attended by many of his lovers, turned into a cry of anger when it was revealed that he had contracted the disease. As quoted by the Daily Mail, Daniel was registered to live with the condition after an autopsy.
However, when a doctor from the town of Segarcea, in Dolj County, in southeastern Romania, tried to warn people that Daniel was suffering from the disease, he was threatened with prosecution by the mother of the man. Dr. Cornel Stanciu, their family doctor, knew that Daniel was HIV-positive and tried to make his condition known after Daniel had a relationship with his daughter.
