Briptu Heidar had escaped from the hostage of a KKB in Papua

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Brigadier General Dedi Prasetyo, head of the police's Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas), said that Brigadier Heidar had tried to escape while he was being held hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Kampung Usir, Puncak Regency, Papua, Monday (12/8/2019).

Unfortunately, he did not succeed. He was even shot by the KKB.

"Get information Brigadier Heidar fled, rebelled, fled, and at the time of the escape, the KKB group fired at him," Dedi said at the headquarters of public relations of the National Police, south of Jakarta, on Tuesday (08/13/2019).

After that, the joint Indonesian National Police team evacuated Brigadier Heidar's body.

The body was airlifted and buried on Tuesday in Makbadar, South Sulawesi.

"At 12 o'clock, it was stolen today by Timewijaya between Timika and the funeral home of Makbadar, in southern Sulawesi," he said.
