"Pak (Mr) Irwandi was caught in an operation to catch suspects in the act (OTT) when in fact he was not," he said.

Coordinator of the Aceh Community Coalition (KMBA), Fahmi Nuzula has meanwhile threatened to close the centers of Aceh administrations unless Irwandi is released. "I appeal to the acting governor as well as to the Aceh district chiefs so that they do not go to the office," he said.
Sufaini and Fahmi both criticized KPK for acting excessively against Irwandi. Fahmi said KMAB would hold a mbadive protest demanding KPK release Irwandi, which will be done in the next few days. "We are going to mobilize people for them to set up a huge demonstration," he said.
Before being elected governor of Aceh, Irwandi Yusuf was a member of GAM's propaganda staff. He is also head of the Partai Aceh Nation (PNA) which is one of the largest local political parties in Aceh.
