JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former West Java Deputy Governor, Deddy Mizwar, said the Bekasi district government could not unilaterally grant planning permission for the Meikarta project in Cikarang.

According to him, planning permits require recommendations from the provincial government of West Java to the central government.

This was said by Deddy after being interrogated as a witness at the building of the Commission for the Eradication of Corruption (KPK) in Jakarta on Wednesday (12/12/2018).

Deddy testified in a corruption case related to the Meikarta building permit.

"If it's been approved by the provincial government, it's not necessarily possible to do it, it needs to be approved by the center." Because the name of the layout plan has been top-down. So, not because the regency has changed, it can be done, no, "said Deddy.

According to Deddy, the top-down approval mechanism is important related to space licenses.

According to him, space management greatly affects the prevention of future disasters or problems of use of space.

According to Deddy, the Meikarta project is located in a provincial strategic area where land use and land use planning must receive the province's recommendations.

In 2017, according to Deddy, the province issued a recommendation of only 84.6 hectares.

The Regent's request for the province was in accordance with the 1993 Governor in Council (SK) Decree.

However, Deddy admitted that he did not know whether the lands surrendered to the developer exceeded the province's recommendations or an area of 500 hectares.

In this case, Bekasi regent Neneng Hbadanah Yasin and Bekasi Regency government agency officials allegedly pledged Rp 13 billion to the developer of the Lippo group.
