TRIBUNNEWS.COM – Musician Ahmad Dhani has been charged with two years in prison for hate speech in the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (26/11/2018).

The Attorney General (JPU) considers Ahmad Dhani guilty of disseminating information that creates hatred and hostility between certain individuals on the basis of racial and intergroup religious tribes (SARA).

The leader of the Dewa 19 gang allegedly violated Article 45A (2) and Article 28 (2) of Law No 19 of 2016 on information and electronic transactions in conjunction with Article 55 (2). 1 of the Penal Code.

In his application, the prosecutor also asked the panel of judges to confiscate the evidence in the form of a flash disk containing a screenshot of Twitter account @AHMADDHANIPRAT.

In addition, a mobile phone including a SIM card, a Twitter account @AHMADDHANIPRAST as well as an email to confiscate and destroy.

Dhani who listened to the request did not react to anything.

Chief Justice Ratmoho then asked Dhani and his lawyer to file a plea (Defense Note) or not.

"Two glorious weeks (to file a plea)," said Hendarsam Marantoko, Dhani's lawyer.

Outside the courtroom, Dhani objected to the prosecutor's requests.
