TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – Tangerang regional secretary (Sekda) Dadi Budaeri said his party would make Benteng Stadium in Tangerang a sports center inside.

The construction of the stadium will begin after the Tangerang Regency government officially handed over the property to the government of Tangerang City (Pemkot) during the second week of December.

The plan, in the new stadium of the fortress, will include several badminton and basketball courts, such as Istora Senayan in Jakarta.

Dadi said he did not want the stadium to become a football stadium again, because it was in the middle of the city.

The construction of the Benteng Stadium is part of the Tangerang City Government's project to build several sports centers and a football stadium in the Tangerang City Government Administrative Zone.

Tangerang mayor Arief R Wismansyah had previously announced that the stadium would be built in the village of Selapajang. While in the sub-districts of Cipondoh, Pinang and Tangerang, special sports facilities such as badminton courts, basketball and other sports facilities will be built.
