The earthquake took place at 22:58, West time of Indonesia.

The epicenter was in the sea, 55 km southwest of Bengkulu.

The coordinates of the earthquake are 3.83 LS, 101.76 BT.

The Agency of Meteorology and Geophysics (BMKG) said the quake was 59 km deep and had no tsunami potential.
