VIVA – Diabetes still poses a serious threat to the Indonesian people. According to the results of basic research in health 2018, the prevalence of diabetes increased from 5.7% (2007) to 6.9% (2013) to 8.5% (2018), the total number of Diabetes case reaching 10.3 million.
Unfortunately, there are very few studies in Indonesia on diabetes mellitus, especially those that can be easily put into practice. In general, the number of researchers in Indonesia is still lagging behind neighboring countries such as Malaysia.
