Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Grab said that he had tested a new feature in the form of number hiding in the chat feature, to minimize disruption for customers.
As reported by AFP, the trial was held in Jakarta from 1 November 2018 on drivers and pbadengers. "The masking of the numbers is actually a number, so not all the numbers are displayed," Grab Indonesia CEO Ridzki Kramadibrata said in Jakarta on Tuesday (29.11.2018).
Number masking is one of Grab's efforts as part of yesterday's safety technology roadmap. This roadmap consists of a product development aimed at improving safety standards conducted until 2019.
When trying to hide numbers, Grab revealed that he had managed to reduce to 70% the number of telephone and chat interference during the first four weeks.
In addition to number masking, Grab also oversees the pilot's partners. Telematics controls allow drivers to learn driving habits, including speed limits, acceleration, braking and other parameters. Grab is also testing a security camera in the GrabCar fleet for supervision.
"For Grab, security is our blood, our DNA, where it has become our principle, even our founders started it for security reasons, wanted to provide solutions to security problems, but we do not stop there, some features that we have launched "We have put in place a number of procedures, but this only stops there later in 2019," Ridzki said.
Previously, Grab had also implemented several security measures such as emergency buttons, sharing of places of travel and rigorous verification of driving partners.
