JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – DKI Jakarta President, DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, fears that street vendors (PKL) continue to occupy Jatibaru Raya Road, while the provincial government of DKI Jakarta is building Skybridge equipped with kiosks for street vendors selling in Tanah Abang, central Jakarta.

According to Prasetio, the provincial government of DKI will face this new problem.

"Indeed, there are more street vendors below (Jalan Jatibaru)? There are more street vendors, there must be street vendors. New problems yet, add problems", said Prasetio at the DPRD building in DKI Jakarta, Jalan Kebon Sirih, Jakarta Center, Monday (11/12) 2018).

In addition, Prasetio stated Skybridge also has no aesthetic value.

Compared to Skybridge, Prasetio chose street vendors placed in underground tunnels (tunnel) Blok G Tanah Abang Market. With regard to pedestrian spaces, the DKI provincial government may release land in the area.

"The truth is, Blok G, do it tunnel down, it's the easiest. Then simply buy the land at the station, free to walk, "said Prasetio.

Nevertheless, Prasetio continues to appreciate the efforts of the provincial government of DKI to Skybridge organize the street vendors.
